Officials and workers of various units in the field of construction and building-materials industry in the DPRK are pushing ahead with the readjustment and reinforcement of iron and steel production bases.

Officials of the Ministry of Construction and Building-Materials Industry and various units have worked out schedules according to the projects concerned and, in cooperation with relevant units, given priority to the supply of materials and concentrated efforts on their implementation.

The Chongjin Metal Construction Complex has concentrated efforts on repairing the ventilation system of the energy-saving oxygen heat blast furnace newly built at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and on modernizing the conveyor system of the vertical furnace for oxidizing roasting pellet at the Chongjin Steel Plant.

The Equipment Assembly Complex has made a progress in the construction of energy-saving oxygen heat blast furnace at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex.

The metal construction company has striven to shorten the period of the truss manufacture necessary for modernizing the Chollima Steel Complex.
