A national symposium on epidemic prevention and public health took place at the Sci-Tech Complex here on April 9 and 10.

Present there were officials, researchers, teachers, postgraduates and others in the field of epidemic prevention and public health.

Minister of Public Health Jong Mu Rim, chairman of the Central Committee of the Medical Association of Korea, made an address at the symposium.

He noted that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set it as an eternal state policy of the DPRK to steadily develop the public health service and has made ceaseless and painstaking efforts for the people’s good health and happiness.

He stressed that all the officials and researchers in the field of epidemic prevention and public health should reliably guarantee the lives and health of the people with latest medical science and technology achievements and thus make a positive contribution to giving full play to the advantages of the socialist public health system in the DPRK.

The symposium, divided into six panels including the sanitary and ant-epidemic section, Koryo medicine section and surgery section, heard presentations and speeches on the successes proved through experimental and clinical studies in the field of epidemic prevention and public health.
