Kwandok Pavilion in Mt Janam of Kaesong Municipality is the place where ancients trained archery.

Originally, there had been a small thatched pavilion in the place and it was remodeled in 1780.

Kwandok Pavilion covers 30-odd square meters and its front has three kans and its side two kans.

The building is one of architectural heritages showing the then archery place.

During the Fatherland Liberation War the pavilion was seriously destroyed by the U.S. imperialists’ barbarous bombing.

It has been restored to its original state during the postwar reconstruction period thanks to our Party’s policy on protecting national heritage.

Kwandok Pavilion associated with the leadership exploits of President Kim Il Sung was registered as a national cultural heritage.
