Driving Force in Primary Frontline

At the historic 3rd Plenary Meeting of the 7th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) held in April, Juche 107(2018), the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un referred to the fact that the plenum set forth a new strategic line of accelerating the speed of advance of socialist construction and revolution in line with the present situation, in which our Party entered the important historic period of the revolutionary development, saying that the slogan “Let us make a leap forward by dint of science and guarantee the future by dint of education!” reflects our Party’s ideal, aspiration and determination.

That day he stressed again the important issues arising in developing the science: In particular, the science and technology should play the locomotive role in the development of socialist economy.

And then he indicated one by one the task and ways for it and said the science and technology is the forefront in defending our Party and revolution and advancing our cause, calling scientists and technicians the driving force.

Later, at the 2nd Plenum of the 8th WPK Central Committee held in February, Juche 110 (2021), saying that the task into which special efforts should be channeled is to build up well the scientific research force and the sci-tech talent force, the General Secretary gave the great trust in the scientists and technicians that they are the driving force in defending our Party and revolution and advancing our cause.

The priceless title given by the General Secretary over and over again represented his earnest request that they would successfully fulfill their duties as pathfinders and frontrunners in socialist construction, mindful of the Party’s and people’s trust and expectation.

There Is No Future without Science

The Mirae Shop, which is situated on the bank of the picturesque Pothong River, conveys the attentive love of the respected General Secretary.

One February day in Juche 101(2012) officials were surprised while receiving the precious instruction from the respected General Secretary.

Because he referred to a name of the shop for the scientists and technicians he had visited a few days before.

He said that it would be good to call the shop "Mirae Shop" in the meaning that there can be no future without science.

Listening to his instructions, the officials could not repress their emotion.

There can be no future without science!

Nowadays, the age of the knowledge-based economy, the science and technology is the decisive factor regulating and promoting the social economic development.

And the driving force which enables us to outpace the world while racing against the time is also none other than the science and technology.

"Mirae Shop", its name warmly shows his noble intention to bring earlier the bright futures of the prosperous country by dint of the science.
