Medical officials of the Breast Department No.2 of the Breast Tumour Institute of the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital made success in improving the quality of medical service with the will to glorify the leadership exploits of the Workers’ Party of Korea endlessly, becoming holders of academic degrees.

One day, the department head Ri Ryong Gil came to seize the point at an issue.

It was that though all of the department members had abilities capable of writing academic degree theses, they were not paying due attention to do it while attaching importance to treatment of patients.

That day Ri told all the members that the possession of the academic degree serves as viewpoint on serving the people before the honor of each medical worker.

And he first buckled down to the work for writing a thesis for academic degree and thus he was granted an academic degree a few years later.

It was an important occasion making the medical workers put big spurs to writing the theses.

Most of them were the housewives, but the medical workers including a doctor Sin Ok turned out as one in the work after setting high target.

The department laid emphasis on letting them select the research seeds.

And the department made them write their theses under the condition of finding the point at the urgent issue through the discussion on their clinical experiences and the up-to-date medical sci-tech successes.

Such methods encouraged their enthusiasm for writing the theses for academic degrees.

Since then, the holders of the academic degree have been increased.

In those days, the substantial progress has been made in the medical service work of the department including manufacturing the medical apparatus effective for treating the patients.

Even now the department members have put efforts into improving their ability in step with the expectations and demands of the people.
