The watery woodblock print was created in the mid-eighth century and it has been handed down until now contributing to fine art development of our nation.

The watery woodblock print is based on the depicting principle of Korean painting.

The traditional Korean paper, Chinese drawing paper, silk cloth and other cloths are used for the watery woodblock print.

The production of watery woodblock print is brisk in the DPRK and its technique is developing thanks to the policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea on protecting the national heritage.

The technique of watery woodblock print has been inscribed as an intangible cultural heritage of the nation in the DPRK in Juche 106(2017).
