Devotion to Revolutionary Forerunner
A few days ago, the old Pak Chang Su, living in neighborhood unit 10 of Undok-dong No.1 in Hanggu District, was visited by many congratulators--it was her 90th birthday.
They were her old fellows who had worked as teachers for long with her, her disciples scores of years ago, neighbors, the head of neighborhood unit and the doctor in charge.
Their hearty birthday greetings brought tears to her eyes.
She is neither a heroine nor a war veteran. Only one thing, she devoted her whole life to the education.
However, many people visited her to congratulate her birthday.
Among them there were Yu Chung Song, a student at Nampho University of Fisheries, and his parents.
The other day he happened to know that she had been worked as a teacher since the Fatherland Liberation War.
Then he frequently visited her to take care of her life and health; when he called on her, he would hear the story about her struggle during the wartime and determine to lead a faithful life supporting the Party and motherland as she did.
That day, receiving their birthday greetings, she felt deep emotion and sang a song "We Are the Happiest in the World" reflecting her gratitude to the benevolent socialist system and pride of leading a happy life.
Letters That Encourage Youth Shock Brigade Members
Not long ago, the shock brigade members of Rason City Brigade under the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade mobilized in the construction of Jonwi Street received several letters from a girl.
The girl who sent those letters was Paek Un Sim, a worker at the Hyesong Combined Development Company in Rason Municipality.
In the letters, Paek said that though absent in body, she was always with them in spirit; and she earnestly requested them to do more work until the day of informing the respected fatherly Marshal
It was not first time for them to receive such letters.
To tell the truth, Paek passionately volunteered to work at the construction site, but she could not join those proud ranks because of her task.
She always regretted for failing to go to Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, together with her friends.
So, she has sent the consolatory letters and aid materials with her sincerity to the construction site.
Her letters greatly encouraged the shock brigade members.
Seeing her letters of wish to return home after performing feats in the construction, Paek’s friends made a firm pledge to give pleasure to the respected fatherly Marshal by making bigger successes until that day of the completion.
On Day When Literature Correspondent Returned
Several days ago, the members of the vegetable work-team No.2 at the Jonjin Farm, Rangnang District, gathered joyfully for listening to Kang Chol Un who returned from the study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu by model literature correspondents.
The farmers were deep in thought looking at Kang recollecting the days of the study tour.
In fact, Kang was not fit for writing a poem.
Once when he recited his own poem for the first time in front of the work-team members, all of them were surprised.
At that time, Kang told them that he expressed only his feelings about the Party’s warm love to provide our farmers with happy life.
Since then he has written poems continuously.
In those days, his own poems were selected at the national contest for the prize this year, too, in the wake of last year.
Most of farmers read the collection of poems at odd hours and tried to write poems following his example.
It was unanimous mind of all the farmers to boast of the stirring realities to the world.
Kang said to the farmers that as there is our best system for the agricultural workers, our labor and life become songs and poem thus.
