Agricultural workers of the Tokjang Farm in Jongju City, North Phyongan Province of the DPRK, have moved into modern houses built under the care of the Workers’ Party of Korea which is making richer the new life of the socialist rural culture.
Hundreds of terraced and low- and single-storied dwelling houses were built at the sunny foot of a mountain, and fruit trees, zelkova trees and other trees of good species and shrubs were planted around the houses, adding beauty to the surrounding landscape. This represents the ever-changing appearance of the socialist countryside.
Present at the ceremony for moving into those houses on Monday were Kim Chol U, secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, officials of the Party and power organs in Jongju City, builders and owners of the new houses.
Ri Yong Chol, chairman of the North Phyongan Provincial People’s Committee, made a congratulatory address.
Licenses for the use of houses were awarded and speeches were made.
After the ceremony, cheerful peasant music was played and a dancing party was held. The officials shared joy with the owners of the new houses.
