Relying on Our Own Raw Materials and Technology

One August day in Juche 103(2014), the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the Chollima Tile Factory.

An official of the factory proudly informed him of the fact that the factory was producing tiles with raw materials and materials of its own make while using those for national economy and materials.

Being told about it, the General Secretary praised that it was a good deed, and he said that the quality of the homemade sanitary wares installed at the Songdowon International Children’s Camp had been as good as the imported ones, stressing that the construction field should use much homemade building materials.

That day he emphasized that the duty of the factory is very important in completely changing the appearance of the country by realizing the Party’s plan and intention to usher in a great golden age of construction, adding that it is main duty of the factory to lower the production cost to the maximum based on the locally available raw materials and advanced science and technology so as to produce and supply sufficient tiles for various uses ensuring their qualities to meet the demand.

Looking up to the respected General Secretary, the officials of the factory made a firm determination to normalize the production depending on our own raw materials and technology.

Equipment Made by Its Own Efforts

The following happened one June day in Juche 105(2016) when the respected General Secretary went round the production processes of sanitary goods newly arranged in the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Silk Mill.

After seeing a piece of equipment made by its own efforts and technology, the General Secretary highly appreciated their efforts and it was the great success that it made the modern production equipment for sanitary goods based on a photo without any designs.

As for that production equipment, it had been regarded as an exclusive property of some developed countries.

However, our teachers, researchers, technicians and skilled workers engaged in manufacturing the equipment had turned out as one for manufacturing the equipment with a sense of duty that they should make it without fail before thinking of impossibility, and finally, they had made it successfully.

After listening to the explanation about it from an official of the mill, the General Secretary said that we would not have dared to make it by our own efforts in the past, and it was right he said that the factory could make it by itself because of upholding the banner of Juche-orientation in the spirit of self-reliance, highly praising their fighting spirit and work attitude.

Receiving the General Secretary’s appraisal, the accompanying officials felt again that even when we make a thing, we should make such creations that can be said fairly as ours based on our own strength and technology.
