Farm Field Seething with Optimism

While looking round work-teams to learn about the conditions of seedbeds a few days ago, Choe Kum Ju, manageress of the Oryong Farm in Mundok County, wore a smile on her face.

It was because rice seedlings in the work-team No. 3 were growing up healthily.

With the will to bring about a rich harvest without fail this year, too, its farmers have devoted their sincerity to taking care of the seedbeds while covering them well with plastic sheets at nights and paying deep attention to controlling the temperature and humidity of them at dawns.

Choe, all of a sudden, could hear a loud laughter from a field.

The farmers gave a delightful recreation party after taking care of the seedbeds.

All of them beating drums and playing the guitars looked like "stars".

As the vocal duet of couple innovators did, a famous drummer O Myong Jin, head of the work-team, added zest to the party.

Amid the excited atmosphere of the party, they danced to the rhythm of drums.

Their singing and cheerful dance pervaded the field.

As they have worked and lived in a revolutionary and optimistic way, their work-team won the title of Three-Revolution Red Flag and the honor of a high-yield workteam.

Motivation in Morning Rush Hour Adding Vitality

Seen at the front gate of the Sangwon Cement Complex in the morning are women engaged in motivations in the morning rush hour, holding flags, flowers and drums in their hands.

They are women’s union members of the Myongdang Workers’ District who have turned out for encouraging the working class of the complex striving to make higher production result in response to the Party’s call to vigorously promote the Regional Development 20×10 Policy.

The motivation of the women, which is being held almost every day rain or snow, gave great strength to the working class of the complex.

The women say unanimously as follows:

When our complex boosts the production, much more cement will be sent to the construction sites of the capital city and the construction sites for regional-industry factories.

It is the unanimous will of all the motivators including Jo Myong Ok, leader of the artistic motivation team of the women’s union.

To tell the truth, it is easier said than done for them, housewives bringing up their children and serving their parents-in-law, to attend the motivation in the morning rush hour almost every day.

Whenever they are tired, they screw their courage thinking that their families’ happiness is guaranteed by the motherland and the life conducive to the nation’s economy is honorable one before their children.

Seeing their figures, the workers of the complex are determined to make an innovation in the production.

"Gardeners" of Coal Mine

Officials and employees of the ceramic workshop of the February 8 Jikdong Youth Coal Mine have channeled their wits and efforts into the work to embellish their worksite.

So the appearance of the workshop has face-lifted beyond recognition.

Several years before there had been only a few trees in the compound of the workshop; however, now, tens of fruit trees including apricot, jujube, plum and other trees high in ornamental effect have rooted and the refined flower beds have been arranged for beautiful roses, dahlias, chrysanthemums, etc.

In addition they have also ornamented their worksite and offices with flowers planted in self-made flower pots. The above draws the admiration from visitors.

The workshop head Hong Jong Ho said that the employees would visit the tree nursery and greenhouses frequently to learn how to tend trees and flowers and sometimes, they were willing to make long journey for books on art of gardening.

During those days many employees came to acquire a good knowledge of greening and forestation.

As the worksite was arranged in a cultured way, the production has increased naturally. The workshop has over-fulfilled their production plan every month.

Not content with this, the workshop made more flower pots for lounges of the coal mine and thus everybody calls them "gardeners" of the coal mine.

The life of the employees of the workshop vividly shows the truth that the civilization of life should be created on one’s own and only then is it possible to feel the genuine pleasure of enjoyers.
