The 37th National Festival of Science and Technology closed with due ceremony at the Sci-Tech Complex on Thursday.

Exchanged at the festival held from April 26 were valuable successes and experience conducive to increasing production, readjustment and reinforcement and strengthening the regional industry.

Present there were Vice-Premier Jon Sung Guk, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea Choe Tong Myong, President of the State Academy of Sciences Kim Sung Jin, Minister of Education Kim Sung Du, officials concerned and working people.

The general examination results were announced at the ceremony.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, the North Phyongan Provincial power transmission and distribution station, the Pyongyang Mobile Communications Administration, the Jongju Chicken Institute under the Academy of Poultry Science, the Kumsan Mining Trading Company took the special place and 95 units, including the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, the Anbyon Youth Power Station, the Ryongmun Coal Mine and the Grain Processing Research Institute under the Ministry of Food Procurement and Administration took the first place.

New technical products developed by 24 units, including Kim Chaek University of Technology, the Kalma Foodstuff Factory and the Hungbuk Economic IT Exchange Company in South Hamgyong Province, won a high appreciation.

The trophy cups, medals, certificates and diplomas were awarded to the units and participants who were highly appraised and prizes were awarded to them.

Ri Chung Gil, chairman of the State Commission of Science and Technology, made a closing address.
