For Other Workshop

It happened several days ago when employees of the youth workshop under the Rakwon General Machine Enterprise were waging a fierce campaign for carrying out the tasks of producing excavators assigned by the Party.

While looking round the production site, an official of the enterprise came to observe a woman worker striving to process spare parts.

She was Ri Ok Sun, a worker at the precision processing workshop, not at the youth workshop.

Ri said to the official, who asked why she was working there, that she could not go home readily when she was told that the employees of the youth workshop have striven to carry out the enormous work.

At the moment, the official was deeply moved as Ri reminded him of the figures of the former generation who had run ahead at the speed of Chollima under the slogan of collectivism.

Since then, Ri and other employees have come to that workshop after their daily work for several days to undertake all the hard jobs.

Therefore, those of the youth workshop unanimously said that the success they made would be unthinkable without the devoted efforts of others.

To Save a Worker’s Life

Not long ago, a woman left the Kim Man Yu Hospital.

She was Ryu Kyong Sun, a worker at the Taedonggang Elevator Operating Station.

In fact, Ryu was carried to the hospital due to an unexpected happening several months ago.

She was in a critical condition, but medical workers of the hospital buckled down to the treatment with the determination to restore her to health.

Mun Kwang Chol, a doctor of the intensive treatment department, Sok Tong Jun, a doctor of a central hospital, and other medical workers held consultative meetings several times a day to ensure a successful operation and spent several nights without sleep beside Ryu for finding out the proper treatment method.

It was not easy for them to bring her back to life.

Also Ryu used to lose courage thinking that it would be impossible to regain her health.

At that time, the officials of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea gave strength and courage to the medical workers.

They devoted their kindred affection to her while inquiring about her condition almost every day.

And other elevator operators and the officials of the station and inhabitants in Okryu-dong No.1, Taedonggang District, too, called on her with nutritive foodstuffs and encouraged Ryu.

Thanks to such warm affection and love, Ryu could leave the hospital in 70-odd days.

That day when Ryu left the hospital, she made a firm determination to do more good things for such nice people and socialist country.

With Parental Affection

In early March this year Ri Chun Sop, manager of the Jangjagang Mushroom Farm, visited Wang Un Jong’s house in Jangphyong-ri, Janggang County. The manager said that he dropped in at her house partly for his business and partly for seeing her.

Wang Un Jong was deeply moved by the manager who learned about her health and living conditions.

Seeing the manager, Wang remembered again the loving care for her shown by the officials and employees of the farm.

Several years ago Wang was placed at the farm after graduating from an orphans’ middle school. Since then the officials and employees of the mushroom farm have taken care of Wang rain or shine.

When Wang was engaged to a young man, Ri Chun Sop, Han Song Il and other officials and employees of the farm rejoiced over the news as over their own and prepared for the wedding with sincerity.

On the wedding day the officials and employees of the farm congratulated the bride and bridegroom giving a lot of souvenirs and household goods to them.

Even after the wedding ceremony the officials and employees always take deep care of Wang’s work and life with parental affection.

Recollecting benevolent images of the officials and employees Wang made up her mind to devote herself to the work for the socialist motherland as well as the unforgettable persons.
