Picturing Tomorrow to Himself with Delight

In Changjon Street, which was born in the beginning of the new century of the Juche era, is Changjon Haemaji Restaurant.

This restaurant is one of the witnesses of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un’s unfathomable love for the people.

One August day in Juche 101 (2012), he visited the restaurant whose opening was near at hand.

He made rounds of the restaurant, learning in detail about the construction of the restaurant, arrangement of goods, service plans and the variety and quality of the cuisines.

He said to the accompanying officials with great delight that the restaurant was so atmospheric and that he liked everything in it.

He continued that the restaurant made him picture to himself the future when our people would lead happier and more affluent life and that it would thrive as a popular service center frequented by the people.

Listening to him, the officials were filled with excitement.

They felt convinced that the days of prosperity would soon be dawning on this land thanks to the devotion of the respected General Secretary.

Heavy Heart and Light Heart

Some days before the 70th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea in Juche 104 (2015), the respected General Secretary left for Rason Municipality at the northern tip of our country.

He set out on a long journey after he had been informed that the municipality had successfully recovered from the unexpected flood damage.

Actually, he had been there just twenty days before with plain canvas shoes on his feet, even skipping lunch and treading on rough dusty paths.

He hurried his way to Rason as he could not rest easy without checking in person that the mishap-stricken land had totally been recovered to ensure happy life of the people.

When he arrived in the municipality, he was welcomed by the picturesque scene of Paekhak-dong of the then Sonbong area which had undergone a sea change.

Admiring the village with a broad smile on his face, he said with pleasure that, on his previous visit, his heart had been heavy with the anxiety for the residents there who had lost their homes and the thought of how to build new houses for them as early as possible.

However, his heart became light that day, he added.

Heavy heart and light heart--this phrase, indeed, reflects the sincerity of the respected General Secretary who shares weal and woe with the people.
