Medical workers across the country now strive to discharge their duty and responsibility with sincerity and high ability in the medical service for promoting the people’s health.

Sincerity Devoted to a Patient

Last April, an unexpected patient was brought to the South Phyongan Infant Hospital.

To revive the patient, the hospital organized the treatment team with veteran medical workers and had tens of consultations even a day for discussing the treatment method.

The medical workers devoted their sincerity to the patient, keeping in mind the noble intention of our Party which gives the top and absolute priority to the people’s lives and its protection.

Not only doctors and nurses in charge of the patient but the other medical workers of the hospital looked after the patient with parental care and often stayed up all night to nurse the patient.

Among them were Director of the hospital Choe Jong Suk, who frequently offered the delicious dishes for improving the patient’s nutritive conditions; and Ri Song Guk, a doctor in charge, who cared the patient all night though he was tired from treating the patient without resting for several days.

Recollecting those days of treatment, the patient’s mother expressed her gratitude:

"Really, all the medical workers of the hospital devoted their sincerity to my child, with the feeling of being those in charge of my child and real parents."

Thanks to their devotion, the patient could be restored to health and left the hospital after a month.

Setting Higher Goal

The research group of the Laparoscope Laboratory under the Kim Man Yu Hospital has carried out the research for several years on introducing the new method of laparoscopic surgery into clinical practice.

Though the new surgery method was the advanced one and it lacked in everything, they determined to establish a new treatment method, keeping in mind their duty and responsibility assigned by the Party.

After a year of its beginning, they had introduced new methods into various kinds of surgeries.

However, Head of the laboratory Jo Ye Rim set higher goal, saying that there could be no satisfaction in research for the protection of people’s lives.

Then, they continued the research with burning enthusiasm, and thus they introduced new various advanced surgery method and performed a thousand and hundreds of successful operations.

When she was congratulated, Jo Ye Rim would say as follows:

"The medical workers who are responsible for the people’s lives have no right to give up or flinch. We, medical workers, should devote our efforts to the research for the new, challenging the limit."
