True to the decisions of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, officials and working class of the field of metal industry have further consolidated the foundation of iron and steel production while displaying their surging spirit and redoubled enthusiasm.

Officials of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry have conducted the operation and command in a revolutionary way to complete the modernization projects under construction ahead of schedule.

Those including a senior official of the ministry went down to the relevant units and grasped the main links which are of substantial significance in advancing the date of the project to carry out them one by one.

In particular, workers of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex have made success in repairing the oxygen converter at steel workshop No.1.

Those of the Chollima Steel Complex have waged the campaign for increasing the iron and steel production and expanding the capacity of production.

Similar successes have been witnessed at the Posan Iron Works and Chongjin Steelworks.

Meanwhile, the related units rendered vigorous support to the workers in the field of metal industry, greatly encouraging them.
