Why He Made First Speech
A farmer made a speech in tears at the ceremony of moving into new houses held at the Tokhung Farm in Kangso District last May.
He was Kim Song Nam, a member of Work-team No. 3 of the farm.
Everyone was moved to tears, listening to him saying in great emotion that he was given a wonderful new house thanks to the benevolence of the Party in spite of the crime he had committed before the country.
Even when Kim had seen the new houses under construction, he had never dreamt of himself being given one of those.
When he heard that he had received a new house like the other farmers, he was too embarrassed to fall asleep.
Eventually, he volunteered to make a speech at the ceremony of moving into new houses.
In front of the audience, he evinced his feelings of gratitude in tears and his will to repay the Party’s love and benevolence by bringing about a rich harvest at any cost.
Totally Transformed Home Village
Ko Kum San, a farmer of the Songo Farm in Sinchon County, still remembers the time when he arrived at his home village after being demobilized from military service last year.
At first, he couldn’t find his home easily because the village had been transformed far beyond recognition.
During his days of military service, he used to imagine what his home village would look like whenever he heard the news about farm villages across the country being newly built or face-lifted.
But he returned home to find his home village even more beautiful than he had imagined.
After making several rounds of the village, he managed to find a house with his father’s name written on the nameplate.
When he entered the house, his father grasped him by the hands and said in tears that the country had provided such splendid homes to ordinary farmers.
Listening to him, Ko Kum San decided to become a patriotic farmer who repays the Party’s love with high yields.
Still today, he is working by the sweat of his brow to fulfill his pledge.
Happy Child in Beautiful Village
A matter for congratulation happened to the village of the Solbong Farm in Kosan County last November.
An adorable baby was born to Ju Hyon Chol’s family, who had had a wedding ceremony at the new house under the congratulations of village people.
The villagers discussed the baby’s name again and again.
After a long discussion, they agreed on one name.
They named the baby Ju Haeng Bok (Happiness) to mean a happy child.
It was indeed the most beautiful name which could be given only in our socialist system where happiness grows day by day under the care of the respected General Secretary
As He Couldn’t Sleep in Peace
Jo Tong Il, residing in Kongdok-ri, Hongwon County, is a farmer who had been living with his elder brother and then received a new modern house shortly ago.
As he was a bachelor, he had never thought of receiving a new house.
But when he was actually given a new house like other farmers, he repented of failing to fulfill the duty of a young farmer and couldn’t sleep in peace.
Then he decided to devote his youthful wisdom and passion to the future of the home village.
Since then, he has made redoubled efforts in the fields of the work-team in the day and worked for the shock brigade at night to spruce up the farm.
So the villagers say that the benevolence of the Party has not only transformed the village but also changed the people and that they can picture the future of the farm which will be even better than today.
