Chairman Kim Jong Il Develops WPK into Party of Leader

June 19 is a day of great significance in the history of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) along with October 10, its founding day, as Chairman Kim Jong Il started his work at the Central Committee of the WPK.

On this occasion, the DPRK people are recollecting with deep emotion the exploits of the Chairman performed in strengthening and development of our Party.

In the first period when he began to work at the central committee 60 years ago, the Chairman clarified his will to strengthen the WPK into the Party of President Kim Il Sung forever and ushered in the new era of building Juche-oriented revolutionary Party with energetic guidance and grandiose revolutionary practice for dozens of years.

Regarding it as the main line and basic principle of the party building and activities to thoroughly establish the ideological system of President Kim Il Sung, he energetically led the struggle for improving the party work system and method as intended by the President.

In Febuary Juche 63 (1974), he formulated the revolutionary idea of the President as Kimilsungism and declared the modeling of the whole society on Kimilsungism as the supreme programme of the WPK. It was a historic event that provided new milestone in developing the Party and revolution.

Keeping in his mind the creed that the WPK should be shined with the august name of the President though the revolution advances and one generation is replaced with another, he made sure that the continuity of ideology and guidance of the President was firmly maintained in the Party building.

He made public immortal works including "The Workers’ Party of Korea Is the Party of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung" to provide a guideline for developing the WPK into the Party of the President forever.

Thanks to the wise leadership of the Chairman, the WPK could maintain its revolutionary nature as a party of leader century after century while emerging ever-victorious.

It is one of his biggest exploits that Chairman Kim Jong Il developed the WPK as the Party of leader which faithfully supports the idea and cause of President Kim Il Sung.

Today the WPK led by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un has displayed its might as the Party of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and the powerful political general staff to lead the socialist cause of Juche to victory.
