Famed Worker Inventor

Kim Myong Il, a worker of the the Chongjn City Passenger Transport Station, is loved by collective as an inventor.

Some years ago, Kim could not go to sleep with the thought of how to produce accessories needed for repairing a traction motor of trolley bus by his own efforts.

It was not easy for him to produce new accessories under the situation of lack of experience and even knowledge.

But he buckled down to the production of accessories thinking if making technical innovation and invention is regarded as the work to be done by any specified persons, how can he be called proudly "working class".

Thus he studied data related to manufacture of accessories at sci-tech learning dissemination room during his spare time and held collective discussions with skilled workers over and over again.

Finally, he has succeeded in the production of accessories necessary for ensuring regular operation of the trolley buses.

Not resting on the laurels, he made technical findings and innovations to be conducive to the passenger service sector in successive.

In those days, he became a worker inventor whom the station and collective are proud of.

Though It Was Not His Charge

Pak Nam Sun, who works for the Phyongchon Daily Necessities Factory, would feel pleased at seeing the resin goods produced at the factory with the pride in his contribution to producing them.

In fact, the factory used to suffer from lack of raw material.

Though supplying of raw material was not his charge, he worried himself about that and strove to solve the problem of raw material needed for the production.

One day, he found that a unit had piles of destructive plastics.

Seeing those destructive plastics, he was joyful of securing raw material badly needed for the production.

After a few days, a notice praising his good deed was put on the noticeboard of the factory.

Watching the notice, the officials and employees of the factory said that they realized again that when they have attitude of being masters with patriotic mind regardless of their charge or position, nothing is impossible for them.

Why They Stay up All Night

The following happened some time ago.

Yun Gyong residing in People’s Neighborhood Unit No.1 of the township of Onchon County did not get to sleep easily.

Looking at the face of her daughter asleep, she fell into deep thought. Yun was told that her child practiced singing to attend the performance at the construction site of the regional industry factories in the township. For that reason, her daughter came back home late that evening, too.

After a while Yun Gyong finally sat up. With an eye to finding a job for soldier builders sweating at the construction site like her child, she looked around the room; and her gaze stopped at the sewing machine. She considered it possible that she should make mittens for soldiers and set to work. Her husband was awakened from his sleep due to noise of machine; however, he caught her inward feelings and helped her without any words.

Long time elapsed before they made a pile of gloves. Yun felt sorry for her husband and persuaded him to go to bed; and she was moved by her husband who said "It’s my pleasure and let us make others more." Therefore, the sewing machine kept running and they made dozens of shoulder covers that day.

Tired as they were, on their faces were smiles of pleasure born by the happiness that they could contribute even a little to face-lifting their native place true to the Party’s intention.
