A European regional seminar took place in Berlin on June 19 under the co-sponsorship of the European Regional Committee for Friendship with the Korean People and the German Branch of the Korean Friendship Association to observe the 60th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il’s start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Present there were personages of the European Regional Committee for Friendship with the Korean People, the Korean Friendship Association, representatives of organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and members of the Juche idea study organizations in different countries.

The chairman of the Korean Friendship Association UK who is secretary general of the European Regional Committee made an opening address and the chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association who is chairman of the European Regional Committee made a keynote report at the seminar.

Working at the WPK Central Committee, Kim Jong Il comprehensively systematized the Juche idea after analyzing and reviewing in an all-round way the preceding revolutionary ideas of the working class, established the leader’s ideological and leadership system within the WPK and led the officials to possess the revolutionary work method and popular style of work, the reporter said.

A congratulatory letter from the Korean Association for the Promotion of Cultural Exchange with Europe to the seminar was read out and speeches made.

Speakers highly praised Kim Jong Il as an elder statesman of the world who developed the WPK into an invincible revolutionary party, laid an eternal foundation for building a powerful socialist country and made immortal contributions to accomplishing the cause of human independence through his energetic external activities.

They also praised the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un for setting forth the Party-building line in the new era to develop Kim Jong Il’s Party-building idea and cause at a new high stage, boosting the leadership and fighting efficiency of the WPK in every way and bringing about epochal miracles and changes in the DPRK.

A message of greeting to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar.
