A meeting of the young vanguard took place at the plaza of the April 25 House of Culture in the DPRK on January 10 to vow to carry through the resolutions of the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).

Present there were Ri Tu Song, department director of the WPK Central Committee, officials of the youth league, youth and students in Pyongyang Municipality and members of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade.

Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a report.

The reporter ardently called upon all the youth league officials and members to fully display the spirit and mettle of the patriotic youth in the grand march for opening up a new horizon of overall national prosperity and thus fulfill the honorable mission and duty of the young vanguard in the great era of Kim Jong Un.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

A letter of pledge to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un was adopted.

Then followed a torchlight procession of the young vanguard.

Youth and students went down streets of the capital city, chanting slogans.

At the end of the procession, the art squad of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League gave a performance at the Youth Park Open-Air Theatre in Pyongyang Municipality.
