How They Make Success in Their Farm Work 

The following happened days ago when the officials and agricultural workers of the Jangsuwon Farm under the Pyongyang Municipal Rural Economy Committee were busy with a crop of urgent tasks arising in farming.

They harvested more wheat and barley than the last year’s; this increased grain production needed detailed organizational work for threshing and aftercrop planting; and they had to push ahead with the weeding--all of these work required much labor.

Then, they encouraged themselves with the indomitable spirit displayed by the former generation who ensured wartime grain production in the teeth of heavy bombings by the enemy planes.

The officials and agricultural workers turned out for concluding the farming of earlier crops and planting the following crops; and they manured and cultivated the crops in a responsible manner.

Their working clothes were drenched with sweat, however they did not stop their working.

The firm belief they held in their minds was that a bumper crop can be harvested when they display the fighting spirit of patriotic wartime farmers.

Not Content with Just Carrying Out Tasks for Daily Plan 

One day, the officials of the Pobu Farm in Kaechon City were making the rounds of farm fields.

Inspecting ripened wheat and barley, they found that they had to reap the wheat and barley before rain to protect the loss of grain.

They could not be contented with just carrying out tasks for daily plan.

Then, the officials intensified the organizational work for harvesting wheat and barley as soon as possible and led the agricultural workers to carry out it.

An official of the ri Party committee encouraged the members of the workteam No.1 to hasten the harvesting with the death-defying spirit displayed by patriotic farmers of former generation during the wartime.

The members of the workteam rose in respond to his appeal.

The officials and agricultural workers of other workteams, too, overfulfilled their daily plans by 150% through the intensive campaign.

Thus, the farm finished harvesting wheat and barley before rain as well as threshing in time.
