Treating War Veterans as Teachers

There is a war veteran Kim Jong Sok in Kalma-dong of Wonsan City, Kangwon Province. He is wont to call youths of the Songdowon General Foodstuff Factory "his children" affectionately. Among those youths is Pak Yong A, a junior official of youth league organization in the factory.

In fact, she has long since visited war veterans in the city.

She started to perform her deed, inwardly determining that she should take care of war veterans as a member of new generation.

Her parents also backed her decision and prepared aid materials with sincerity saying that they also should repay the benevolence of the country.

As time went by Pak Yong A realized that she, if anything, has learnt more from the noble spiritual world of war veterans through her visit.

The war veterans became her inmost prop, who plucked up her courage so that she might not feel disappointed when she faced a difficulty in her work or life.

Therefore she has never failed to visit the war veterans every month.

Afterwards her party got to be increased more and more.

They, through their visits to war veterans, came to cherish in their minds that to inherit the revolutionary spirit of the war veterans firmly is their due duty as members of new generation.

A few days ago Pak Yong A and her company visited war veterans including Kim Jong Sok.

That day they keenly realized once again the spirit of defending the country displayed by the wartime generation who are put forward as benefactors and genuine teachers by our Party and made a firm pledge to devote their all to making our country the most powerful and prosperous socialist country in the world.

Now, they perform laudable feats in their work with noble aspiration to be cornerstone of the country by following the noble spirit of wartime generation.

Zeal to Aid Army

One day last May Kim Yong Ok, a worker of the road supervisory company under the South Phyongan Provincial Land and Environment Protection Management Bureau, was on her way home when she saw the lamp light from the window of her house.

She entered the house in joy as her husband returned home after his official trip; however, she was surprised and touched to see her husband packaging the aid materials for soldiers with sincerity.

Looking at him, she recollected the past with emotion:

Her husband was an official of the county and once he made a mistake; but the country treated her family without distinction and enabled their children grow up without worry; when her husband repented his mistake and did well his work, it put him forward as an official responsible for a unit.

Afterwards Kim Yong Ok made her son join the army and vowed to devote her all to aiding the army. Since then it has been an inviolable schedule of her family to send aid materials monthly.

In those days Kim Yong Ok never failed to send aid materials, though she was busy and it required much effort.

It was because she kept in her mind the pride that she contributed even a little to defence of the country as a citizen.

Days ago Kim Yong Ok was awarded the Model Worker Honor Prize and people praised her highly who is model in work as well as aid to army.

As there are numberless people such as Kim who regards aid to army as more important than house affairs and devote their noble sincerity to aiding the army, our army gets stronger day after day.
