Officials and working people in North Phyongan Province put great efforts into afforestation by planting a lot of zelkova trees on street roads and rural villages.

The province has steadily pushed ahead with zelkova-planting as an important political task. After setting the plans according to steps and years, the province has let all cities and counties carry out the plans without fail.

Tree nurseries in cities and counties positively increase production of tree-saplings.

Sinuiju City, Kwaksan, Thaechon, Unsan and Tongrim counties have taken the lead in the afforestation, making practical results.

Patriotic enthusiasm of the people in the province for planting zelkova trees to spruce up their native places is growing day by day.
