Devotion to Recovery of War Veteran

Culture 2024.7.15.

One May day, a war veteran in his 90s was brought to the Rangnang District hospital.

He is Choe Nam Sik residing in Jongo-dong No.1, Rangnang District.

At that time, his illness was serious.

To bring him back to health, the hospital took emergency measures while holding doctors’ conference.

At the conference, the meticulous plan for medical treatment was made and they buckled down to the treatment according to their detailed assignments.

They took tender care of the patient day and night without sparing themselves.

Among them were Kim Kwang Ryol, the director of its internal department, Kim Jong Chol, a doctor in charge and Kim Chol Mi, a nurse.

Their devotion was beyond words.

The intensive care was continued for days; however Kim Yong Sil, a chief nurse, and other medical workers of the hospital tended the patient denying themselves having a rest even for a little while.

The officials of the hospital checked the patient’s condition before the starting of their daily work and took necessary measures.

The officials of the district Party committee and the district people’s committee frequently inquired about his condition and visited the patient to cheer him.

Many people also devoted their sincerity to the recovery of his health after being told about the war veteran, though they had never met him personally before.

Thanks to such noble moral obligation to the revolutionary seniors, the war veteran recovered his health in 20-odd days and left the hospital amid the warm send-off by many people.
