Signal successes are being achieved in the higher education field true to the Workers’ Party of Korea’s intention of radically strengthening the foreign language education and increasing the ranks of masters of several languages.

On the basis of setting the creation of teaching method capable for putting the foreign language education on a higher level as a main item to implement the decisions of the Plenary Meeting of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Il Sung University has made multimedia presentations for teaching method which is conducive to acquiring the words easily and rules on standard pronunciation in a theoretical manner to improve the ability of students.

Kim Chaek University of Technology has made a stride in the work for completing the communicative competence-centered ability evaluation method by consistently pushing ahead with the creation of teaching method.

Meanwhile, the emulations among universities and students gain momentum through multilingual presentations, contests and ability judgments.

The multilingual contests held at Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and other universities remarkably showed the high ideals and goals of our students to compete with the world and outpace with high abilities.

During the first half of the year, over 1 000 times of foreign language contests took place at each university including the multilingual contests for the universities in the sci-tech fields, thus encouraging the enthusiasm for emulations of students to master several languages.
