Rimyongsu Falls is situated in Samjiyon City, Ryanggang Province of the DPRK. The waterfall flows down over the cliff in the Rimyongsu Valley which was formed by erosion of basalt erupted from Mt Paektu.

There are nine main streams which flow down into the "artificial lake" of Rimyongsu Dam.

Rimyongsu Falls and its surroundings are peculiar every season. On shiny days the falls displays an ecstasy of beautiful rainbow.

In winter people can see a grove of the frost flowers in the surroundings of Rimyongsu Falls.

Rimyongsu Falls is associated with the revolutionary exploits of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

In winter of Juche 108(2019) visiting the place, the respected General Secretary impressively said that Rimyongsu Falls which does not freeze in bitter coldness is equal to the spirit of our brave people indomitably advancing despite the outrageous moves of sanctions and suffocation.

Rimyongsu Falls registered as a natural monument is preserved well as a precious wealth of the country thanks to our Party’s policy on nature conservation.
