Recorded in the history of proud victory won by our Korean People’s Army (KPA) and people during the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953) is a combat for liberating Seoul, which was the stronghold of the enemy, within three days after the war broke out.

According to the world war history, it was common to concentrate striking forces on the weakest point of enemy’s defence.

However, President Kim Il Sung set it as one of the main strategic points to make an attack on the area of Seoul where the main forces of the enemy were massed with the highest density of fire.

It was the bold and audacious military strategy capable of driving the main troops of the enemy into the overall collapse with a round of attack operation by concentrating forces on the heart of the enemy.

The President gave a combat mission to infiltrate some small units into the city for driving the enemy into confusion ahead of an all-out attack.

The KPA combined units launched an all-out attack obeying his order.

Our tanks blasted their way into the city and infantry corps attacked the enemy’s flank and rear.

Finally, the stronghold of enemy Seoul was liberated by the heroic KPA within three days after the Korean War broke out.

This military miracle unprecedented in the world history of war was a brilliant victory of the wise guidance of the iron-willed commander Kim Il Sung and his Juche-oriented military idea, strategy and tactics.
