On the Morning of V-Day

The following happened on the morning of this year’s war victory day.

Someone visited the war veterans in the township of Changsong County early in the morning.

It was Jon Myong Hui, a woman residing in neighborhood-unit No. 114 of the township of Changsong County.

She brought various special foods with her and warmly congratulated the veterans and their families.

They felt a lump in their throats.

In fact, Jon has done her best to prepare special dishes for the war veterans in the township every V-day for over 20 years.

Old as she gets, her sincerity for the war veterans never wears out.

Whenever people admire her for her devotion, she says that her father was also a war veteran and that it is so natural for her to do her duty for her father’s generation who fought for the country at the cost of their blood.

Through her laudable deeds alone, we can realize the genuine features of our society in which it has become a sublime moral obligation and noble morale to respect the revolutionary forerunners and hold them in high esteem.

Our Society Overflowing with Beautiful Virtue and Feelings

Months ago, it was a birthday of Sin Tong Gyu, an old man living in the neighborhood unit No.58 of Munsu-dong No. 1, Taedonggang District.

So, Sin’s families and relatives as well as kind-hearted neighbors gathered at his home to congratulate his birthday, but he was not going to receive the birth spread saying that his son has not arrived yet.

Hearing his words, those present wondered. Because his only son had fallen at the military post and thus certificate of the bereaved family of a patriotic martyr had been awarded.

At that time, a man soaked in sweat entered the room. He, waited by Sin, was none other than Pak Tae Song, an official of a station of the Revolutionary Site Construction Bureau.

Pak had been a disciple when Sin had taught at Korea University of Physical Education.

Pak has devoted himself becoming his son since Sin’s son died unexpectedly.

And he took fatherly care of Sin’s grandson studying at Nampho Revolutionary School.

Such laudable deeds can be seen only in our society where all people live harmoniously.
