Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Visits Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong on August 15, the day of Korea’s liberation.

He was accompanied by secretaries and other officials of the WPK Central Committee.

The guard of honour of the Korean People’s Army lined up at the cemetery.

A wreath in the name of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was laid amid the playing of the wreath-laying music.

Written on the ribbon of the wreath were letters reading "Revolutionary martyrs will be immortal".

Kim Jong Un, together with the participants, paid a high tribute to the revolutionary martyrs who laid down their precious lives for the country’s independence and sovereignty, the people’s liberation and the victorious advance of the socialist cause.

There was a march-past of the KPA guard of honour.

Noting that August 15 was a great auspicious event that the Korean people achieved the national independence and sovereignty and a great political event that they opened up a broad avenue for building an independent power, Kim Jong Un said that the day ushered in the new era of the dignity and prestige of Juche Korea and its valiant spirit with which it is proving the truth of its cause through a courageous and dynamic struggle.

The indomitable faith, noble ideal and exploits of the pioneer generation of the Korean revolution are displaying inexhaustible viability without the slightest discoloration despite the passage of time, he said, adding that they serve as a precious revolutionary legacy and ideological blood vessel of fundamental and lasting significance in the development of the Korean revolution.

He stressed that when the revolutionary spirit of Paektu guaranteeing the ever-victorious history and eternal youth of the Juche revolution is carried forward dynamically in a pure way through all ages, our cause, noble in its origin and sacred in its history and tradition, can never be checked and it will advance towards eternal glory and victory, displaying a tremendous strength.
