Chongjin Orphans’ Primary School has a peculiar list called "list of schoolchildren’s parents" recording names, addresses and telephone numbers of those who are related with orphans studying at the school.
One March day evening several years ago, a lot of people visited the orphans’ primary school full of delight of the orphans who received new textbooks and other school things.
The visitors were a senior official of the North Hamgyong Provincial Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and leading officials of various units. They had already provided the school with reference books necessary for teaching and different furnishings. However, that day they brought book covers with name tapes for all the orphans.
They expressed their wills to become parents of the orphans asking the teaching staffs of the school to soundly bring up them to be pillars of the country by concerted efforts.
The teaching staffs were moved to tears by the officials’ sincerity.
A woman residing in Phohang District of Chongjin City, employees of the North Hamgyong Provincial Fine Arts Studio and many other people also dedicate their kindred affection to the orphans.
Visitors to the school express their determination to devote their sincerity to the orphans who are valued by the Party and leave their addresses and telephone numbers asking to call them when necessary.
Like this, the "list of schoolchildren’s parents" appeared at the orphans’ primary school and the number of the list has continued to increase.
On school opening days and sports days the playground of the school is full of "parents of schoolchildren." Almost all of officials of the provincial and city level organs and units meet at the association of the parents of schoolchildren, which is held twice in a year.
The "list of schoolchildren’s parents" of the orphans’ primary school reflects the true picture of our society where to sincerely take care of the orphans prevails true to the noble intention of the motherly Party.
