Son Rock at Myonggan is situated in Ripsok-ri, Myonggan County of North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK.

Son Rock at Myonggan is a basaltic one of hexagonal pillar. Its color is grey-green.

The height of the rock is about 50 meters and it rises 103 meters above the sea level.

The girth of its lower part is 140m, the girth of its middle part 100m and the girth of its upper part 21m.

The east side of the rock is cliff and its north and west sides are sloping.

Son Rock at Myonggan is a natural monument with significance of study of volcanic activity and crustal change, which improves landscape of its area.
