The Chemical Engineering Faculty of Kim Chaek University of Technology developed the mine-gas combined measuring apparatus in our own style.

It, developed by Dr. and Associate Prof. Pak Jong Sung, a section chief of the university, and other scientists, is a digital combined measuring equipment capable of effectively using in preventing various kinds of accidents by mine gas beforehand.

They applied advanced technologies including Nano-based technology and new material technology to the research and thus made sensors of methane, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide and oxygen as well as pick-up.

In this process, they succeeded in high-efficiency combined measuring apparatus to measure the amount of mine gas in real time.

The apparatus, which is much less in its production cost than imported one, makes it possible to offer safer working conditions to the miners.

Meanwhile, it can be used in watching air and ecological environment and was registered as a hi-tech product.
