Fierce Flame of Increased Steel Production

Economy 2024.8.27.

A powerful drive for increasing production of rolled steel is going on at the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex.

There, molten iron cascades from the oxygen-blast furnace and oxygen converters built by our own efforts and technology and the hot blooms from the high-temperature air-combustion heating furnace turn into steel plates in a flash. In this process, the rolled iron production achievement has been augmented day after day, and over twice more rolled iron as against the same period of last year has been produced.

Standing in the van are the workers of the hot-rolling workshop in charge of the main process of the rolled steel production.

They have introduced advanced technology to several systems of the high-temperature air-combustion heating furnace to elevate its working ratio.

They ensure a high level of steel-plate output per day by managing the equipment and technology as required by the standard regulations of operation and repairing the rollers which would take them at least a few days in just 10-odd hours.

The smelters also make redoubled efforts to increase molten iron output.

Better still, the efforts of the workers in the sectors of sheet metal processing, repairs and maintenance and raw materials supply add vigor to the units seething with increased production drive.
