Viewpoint on and Attitude toward Party and Revolution
One day in May, Juche 102 (2013), the respected General Secretary
There, he referred to decisively rectifying the officials’ viewpoint on and attitude toward science and technology and said that, today, one neglectful of science and technology and its development is ineligible for an official and cannot make revolution with the Party.
Then he emphasized that one’s viewpoint on and attitude toward the Party’s line of attaching importance to science and technology means one’s counterpart toward the Party, the revolution and socialism.
His words set the officials deep in thought.
Today, the age of knowledge-based economy and information industry, who holds fast to science and technology becomes strong and who fails to do so becomes weak.
The officials, in particular, the leading staff of revolution, would not be engines of development, but would rather become an obstacle to progress and innovation when they disregard science and technology.
That’s why the viewpoint on and attitude toward our Party’s line of attaching importance to science and technology are a serious matter deciding an official’s qualifications and a political matter about the attitude toward the Party and revolution.
Through that day’s meaningful talk, the officials kept deep in their minds once again that they would be disqualified from standing in the ranks of our revolution, not to mention from being officials, if they stay indifferent to science and technology.
Engine of Construction of Powerful Socialist Country
In January, Juche 107 (2018), the respected General Secretary inspected the State Academy of Sciences for his first field guidance of the year.
He highly praised the scientists and technicians who devoted all their wisdom and passion to solving sci-tech problems at the major posts of their own accord the previous year.
Then he gave programmatic instructions as to steadily put big efforts into developing the science and technology of the country.
He said that we had to regard the sci-tech development as our lifeline and the banner of attaching importance to science be held up throughout the Party and the country.
He continued that he had likened science and technology to the engine of construction of a powerful socialist country and that the scientific research sector had to run along the track indicated by the Party which was in charge of the switch.
His instructions were filled with great trust and expectations.
Indeed, the teachings of the respected General Secretary still teach us that science and technology is the very weapon with which to bring earlier the rosier future.
