The Most Worthwhile Undertaking

One day in October, Juche 101(2012), the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un met with some officials and gave important instructions as regards the country’s education.

The officials, who were to receive his teachings, were wrapped in great excitement.

The respected General Secretary taught the officials that they should take good care of the teachers’ lives and that teachers are career revolutionaries bringing up the younger generation.

Then he continued that making a few lectures at the platform does not seem to be productive at that moment but, in fact, education is the most worthwhile undertaking of bringing up the future of the country and revolution.

His words set the officials deep in thought.

As education has played a significant role in carving out the destiny of human beings, countries and nations, history has witnessed many statesmen who prioritized education.

But it knows no one else but the respected General Secretary who regards education as the most worthwhile undertaking of bringing up the future of the country and revolution and highly values educationists who assume such heavy responsibility.

He told the officials that the Party organizations should pay due attention to the teachers’ lives and earnestly requested that they should pay attention to the problem of teachers’ lives first when they get something new and let the teachers have it before others.

His teachings bore his noble intention that teachers are revolutionaries responsible for the country’s future and nothing has to be spared for the good of them.

Demand of the Party and Revolution

One day in February, Juche 106(2017), the respected General Secretary inspected the newly-built Pyongyang Primary School for Orphans.

Greatly satisfied about the fact that the school was built as a warm home for the orphans and their wonderful place for learning, he made rounds of the school and gave detailed instructions about the education and edification of the orphans.

Then he noted that the modernization of education sector and improvement of the quality of education are the state’s weighty affairs and an important and strategic matter related to the future of the country.

Listening to him, the officials reflected on their attitude toward education of regarding it as a simple technical matter, not as the most important of all state affairs.

After a short while, he said that everything including the trivials must not be neglected if it’s connected with education, and continued as follows:

A climate and discipline of giving the utmost priority to education sector must be established throughout the country. This is the demand of the Party and revolution.

Demand of the Party and revolution!

His teachings deeply implanted in the minds of the officials the fact that education, indeed, is the most important of all affairs for our Party and state.
