With Kindred Love and Affection

A legendary tale about love for human being was born in Rason Municipality in the northern part of the country to touch the heartstrings of the people.

At about 2 o’clock on June 11, an emergency case with a third-degree burn in the 35 percent of his body was carried to the Rason Municipal General Hospital. He was an employee of the Rason Youth Power Station and hanged between life and death.

An official of the primary Party committee of the power station called the doctors for bringing him back to life at any cost.

The conference of doctors was held and urgent treatment measures were taken in the wake of the appeal of the Party official. Since then the medical treatment for survival of the patient had begun. A lot of medicines were injected into the patient and advanced medical science and technology were applied in the treatment and thus the patient recovered his consciousness. From that time on all the medical workers of the traumatology department of the hospital took care of the patient bedside him and devoted all their sincerity to improving his nutriture.

When the patient had an operation on July 31, over 100 people including the medical workers of the hospital and the officials and employees of the Rason Youth Power Station volunteered to devote their skin and blood, saying that they are kindred of the patient. The operation was a great success and the patient recovered his health in tens of days.

A burn patient and over 100 "kindred", this was, indeed, a touching story which can be seen only in our large harmonious socialist family.

A Letter from An Educationist

Not long ago Hyon Jong In, principal of the Sariwon Foreign Languages School, wrote a letter to the editorial department of the Rodong Sinmun Offices.

The letter conveys a story about Ri Jong Ran, residing in the people’s neighborhood unit No. 46 of Sinyang-dong, Sariwon City, who takes parental care of over 10 students of the school.

The students finished the Sariwon Primary School for Orphans.

Ri Jong Ran has taken care of the students voluntarily; whenever they greeted their birthdays, she visited them with specially prepared dishes and souvenirs; whenever they got ill, she visited them with tonics.

One day she got to know that a student was suffering inconvenience in study due to dim eyes. She instantly took the student to a hospital for examination and prepared suitable glasses.

When the school held sports meetings or had picnics, she prepared 10-odd lunches for the students. She spent all day long with them on holidays. During those days the students called Ri Jong Ran mother affectionately.

Through the letter from an educationist, the beautiful human relationship unique to our large socialist family can be seen.

Emotion Burst by A Disabled Soldier Poet

Kim Jong Chol is a worker of the Kyongsong Disabled Soldiers’ Injection Factory. People call him a disabled soldier poet.

Until only a few years ago he was at home for treatment.

One day officials of the township office of Kyongsong County including Jo Yun Suk visited him. They took care of him every day and devoted their sincerity to his life and health.

Receiving their sincerity, he was determined to do even a little for the grateful society and collective.

He went to the farm fields with residents of the township for singing songs or reading his own poems.

Officials of the county including a senior official of the county got to know about him and encouraged him.

Thereafter he recovered his health a little and obtained a job at the Kyongsong Disabled Soldiers’ Injection Factory.

He frequently visited the construction sites of rural dwelling houses and regional industry factories with the officials and employees of the factory to encourage the builders by reading poems.

Whenever people take good care of him calling him a disabled soldier poet, he says as follows; "As I have such grateful comrades and collective, I could contribute to the country a little. Indeed, my socialist country is the best in the world."
