His Iron Will Reflected in Virgin Snow of Mt Paektu

Politics 2024.9.16.

It was one day in winter a few years ago when the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un made a historic horseback march to the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu.

Urging his horse torward the Chongbong Bivouac along the road in the forest, he, all of sudden, stopped his horse.

And then he got off on the road covered with snow and made his way through virgin snow in the van.

The officials, too, hurriedly did so.

But, at the next moment, they were wrapped in sublime emotion.

Because he was advancing through the snow as if he was going to experience all sorts of hardships and privations undergone by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and walked bloody paths covered by the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners.

He halted for a while and sat on snow to be lost in deep thought.

After a while, he called accompanying officials close to him, and let them build a bonfire in the guerrilla style.

Then the warm bonfire, like the breath of the anti-Japanese fighters, began to burn pushing away the cold of the winter.

Watching the fierce flames, he said in a low voice as follows:

Now, there are a few veteran fighters who had braved battlefields in the anti-Japanese war; but their strong spirit and tradition are flowing through generations; we, descendants of the anti-Japanese guerrillas, must clearly show the world how wetranslate the noble desire of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners into reality. …

Only then, the officials could know why he had just made his way through knee-deep virgin snow and what was in his mind.

It was the firm faith and will of the respected General Secretary to glorify our country as the most powerful country in the world true to the patriotic desire of the President and the Chairman for a powerful country and accomplish to the last the revolutionary cause of Juche as desired by the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners.

That is why whenever he visited the sacred place of Mt Paektu, he made a firm determination to bring about a greater victory for the country and the people and shouldered the whole burden of the revolution, and planned a greater goal for the building of a powerful country as if he were on the starting line for a new victory.

That day, the officials warmly felt the noble intention of the respected General Secretary who made them embark on the historic road to the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu.
