Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, received a message of greeting from Dmitri Anatoliyevich Medvedev, president of the United Russia Party, on Sept. 7.

In the message Medvedev extended his heartfelt congratulations to Kim Jong Un on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the DPRK.

Under your leadership, the DPRK is advancing along the road chosen by it while steadily strengthening the national sovereignty and independence despite the unprecedented pressure by the forces destroying the structure, the message said, adding: The mutual cooperation between the United Russia Party and the Workers’ Party of Korea is becoming an important component of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Pyongyang and Moscow.

It expressed thanks to Kim Jong Un for supporting such initiatives of the United Russia Party as the movement against neo-colonialism "For the freedom of nations" and exchange between the United Russia Youth Guards and the Socialist Patriotic Youth League.

Expressing belief that the steady promotion of dialogue between the two parties at all levels conforms to the fundamental interests of the peoples of the friendly two countries, the message wished Kim Jong Un good health and fresh success and the DPRK peace and prosperity.
