Politics 2024.9.9.

Premier Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, made a field survey of the agricultural sector in South Hwanghae Province.

Going round farms in Jaeryong, Anak, Sinchon, Thaethan, Pyoksong, Chongdan, Yonan and other counties, the premier urged the agricultural officials in the province to conduct more effective operation and guidance over the immediate farming processes, mindful of the importance of their duty in attaining this year’s grain production goal.

He stressed the need to set the right harvest time and concentrate manpower and means on timely harvesting without any waste, on the basis of taking into account the ripening rate of rice ears and weather conditions in keeping with the rice growing period at the final stage, and to make preparations for the next year’s wheat and barley farming in a far-sighted way.

He called for making full preparations to thoroughly cope with the aftermath of disastrous abnormal weather, including typhoon, which frequently occurs in autumn, and further stirring up the agricultural workers’ enthusiasm for production and steadily improving the agricultural management.

Learning about the grain management in Anak County and other counties, he stressed the need to increase the capacities for drying and storing grain and positively introduce advanced grain processing technology to make it prove effective in practice, being well aware of the requirements of the Party’s policies.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of concentrating all efforts on successfully finishing this year’s farming, the issue of further increasing the proportion of mechanization in carrying out the farming processes and the issue of pushing ahead in a planned way with the work to introduce superior farming methods.

Earlier, the premier learned about the production of various kinds of trial equipment for regional-industry factories and stressed the need to make high-quality custom-built equipment by actively applying advanced science and technology to thoroughly implement the Party’s regional development policy.
