Art Performance Given to Celebrate Birthday of DPRK

There took place an art performance for celebrating the 76th founding anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the capital city of Pyongyang on Monday.

The venue for the performance in front of the Mansudae Assembly Hall was full of working people, youth and students who came to see the performance.

Among the audience were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, other senior officials of the Party and the government, deputies to the Supreme People’s Assembly, labor innovators, persons of merits, officials of ministries and national agencies, service personnel of the People’s Army, teaching staff and students of revolutionary schools, Pyongyang citizens and inhabitants of flood-hit areas staying in Pyongyang.

The overseas compatriots visiting the homeland on the occasion of the 76th founding anniversary of the DPRK, including the members of the congratulatory group of Koreans in Japan, and representatives and staff members of the foreign diplomatic missions here and other foreigners were invited to watch the performance.

The national anthem of the DPRK was played.

Put on the stage of the performance, which started with "The Glorious Motherland", a monumental ode to the country, born along with its founding, were colorful numbers including famous songs on the theme of patriotism sung aloud in the past decades when gigantic struggles were waged to build and glorify our great state.

The performers sang highly of the undying glory of our Republic, which has demonstrated its might as a prospering country of miracles and heroic Korea recognized by the world under the unique state-building idea and leadership of the peerlessly great men, and the happiness of its people leading a dignified and worthwhile life as members of an independent powerful nation.

The performance reached its climax with the song "Our National Flag".

Fireworks were set off to peculiarly decorate the end of the performance.
