A maritime sports demonstration took place on the Taedong River in front of the Tower of the Juche Idea on Sept. 9 to celebrate the 76th birthday of the DPRK.
Among the audience were Pak Jong Gun, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission, Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, officials concerned, labor innovators and meritorious persons who made contributions to the struggle for attaining the 12 major goals of the development of the national economy, officials of ministries, national agencies, Pyongyang municipal and district-level institutions, working people and citizens.
Among the audience were also veteran cadres who had worked for a long time at important posts of the Party, government and military.
The players displayed high sports techniques they have cultivated in their daily practice. The demonstration sports events included water skiing.
