The schoolchildren art squad of Janghun Senior Middle School in Mangyongdae District is well-known across the country. The art squad has won the national schoolchildren art squads contest more than 10 times and given its performances to over 300 000 people.

A bobbed girl, who had been appointed as a teacher of the school after university graduation, proposed to organize a schoolchildren art squad and wage a vigorous agitation for increased production in the 1980’s when unprecedented miracles and innovations were created in all spheres of the revolution and construction.
The schoolchildren art squad organized under active sponsorship of the school Party organization displayed feverish activities wherever it went, and people appreciated its members highly. The art squad visited the construction sites to give performance and, prior to the performance, they handed over aid materials associated with their sincerity; their figures deeply impressed many people.
Many years have passed since then and members of the art squad have been replaced with youngers; however, their spiritual world gets purer as they live near Mangyongdae, sacred place of the revolution.
As there is an excellent gardener behind a beautiful flower, there is an excellent teacher behind good pupils. The person who promoted the schoolchildren art squad activity is just Mun Yong Ok. She has worked as a teacher of music for over 40 years.
