The machine-building industry of the DPRK directs efforts to improving the performance of equipment.

The Ryongsong Machine Complex applied the CNC system to a boring machine to provide a guarantee for shortening the processing time of parts and increasing their production in quality and quantity. And it improved a number of heat-treatment equipment to raise the quality of custom-built equipment.

The Taean Heavy Machine Complex introduced a valuable technical innovation proposal to large lathes, thus increasing the productivity.

The Pyongyang Electric Cable General Factory 326 and the Ranam Coal-mining Machine Factory attained the goal for technical improvement of major equipment.

The Anju Pump Factory, the Ryangchaek Bearing Factory and other units have made progress in the modernization of equipment through a technical innovation project with the main emphasis put on boosting productivity while saving manpower, electricity and lot.
