Different units in the machine-building industrial sector of the DPRK are pushing ahead with the work to modernize machines and equipment.

The Taean Heavy Machine Complex has improved the speed control device of large-sized 16-meter lathe to raise the operation rate of equipment and precision in processing products and made achievements in modernizing the main equipment including 200-mm boring machine.

The Central Machine Industry Institute under the Ministry of Machine-building Industry directs efforts to completing the designs of putting industrial establishments in the machine-building industrial sector into a modern basis.

The Jonchon Rock Drill Factory has solved technical problems arising in modernizing production processes and equipment through creative cooperation between technicians and workers and collaboration with scientific research units.
