On July 3, Juche 19(1930) the first party organization was formed in a classroom at Jinmyong School in Kalun under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung.

The first party organization - the Society for Rallying Comrades - was the embryo and seed of our Party; it was an organization with the importance of a parent body in forming and expanding the basic organizations of the party.

The President wrote in his reminiscences "With the Century" as follows:

"We gave the first party organization the simple name of the Society for Rallying Comrades. That name embodied the high aims and will of us who were taking the first step in the revolution by winning over comrades, and who were determined to develop the revolution in depth and achieve its final victory by continually discovering and rallying those comrades who would share their fate with us."

A lot of basic party organizations were formed like so many mushrooms after rain after the formation of the first party organization under the energetic leadership of the President.

Thanks to such precious success and experiences gained during the arduous anti-Japanese struggle a historic event was achieved that our Party was founded in a short span of time less than two months after the liberation of the country from the Japanese colonial rule.

The members of the first party organization were only 10-odd men including Cha Kwang Su, Kim Hyok and Choe Chang Gol. But today, our Party has over millions of its members.

Those millions of Party’s members, core of revolution, have devotedly implemented the lines and policies of the Party, rallying behind the leader with single idea, will and comradeship, and such tradition has been handed down through generations.

Indeed, the formation of the first party organization was a historic event which declared to the whole world that our revolution is the sacred cause pioneered by comradeship and emerging victorious by comradeship.

Now, our Party shines as an integral organization and ideological pure entity which moves as one under the leadership of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un and as a banner which leads our motherland and revolution to victory.
