A vertical furnace for oxidizing roasting pellet was newly built at the Chongjin Steel Plant according to the Party’s readjustment and reinforcement strategy. It has played a big part in the production of samhwa iron.

The Ministry of Metal Industry made a bold plan for building a vertical furnace for oxidizing roasting pellet at the Chongjin Steel Plant to fully satisfy the daily increasing demand of samhwa iron. And the ministry strengthened the cooperation with relevant units including the North Hamgyong Provincial Party Committee and the Ministry of Construction and Building Materials Industry and aroused the working class at the Chongjin Steel Plant to building vertical furnace.

The working class of the plant buckled down to the project and achieved successes.

The officials of the plant meticulously organized the work and technicians and skilled workers raised their responsibilities and roles.

The workers and technicians introduced new and peculiar methods of construction to carry out the building project.

They concluded the steel-structure assembling and installment of equipment and belt-conveyer, which would take dozens of days in general, within 10-odd days.

Workers of the Chongjin Metal Construction Complex shouldered a great part of the project.

The designing collective of the Chongjin Steel Plant and the Steel Designing Institute of the Ministry of Metal Industry gave priority to the rational designing to hasten the project and save a lot of iron and steel.

The output of pellets has been increased day by day thanks to the devoted struggle of the workers and technicians of the Chongjin Steel Plant.
