The Chongsokjong is situated in the township of Thongchon County.

It is a scenic spot in the eastern coast with a lot of queer-looking stone columns.

The name "Chongsokjong" is derived from the fact that a pavilion is standing on the hill which stretches to the sea like a peninsula.

The rock pillars standing at various angles along the coastline form a cliff. They are divided into lying pillars, sitting pillars and standing pillars, of which the standing rock pillars are most fantastic.

The scenery of the Chongsokjong is bluff scenery on the coast; therefore people can see more wonderful scenery on the sea. The pine trees on the bluff and the whitecaps breaking on the cliff add beauty to scenery of the Chongsokjong.

The sunrise at the Chongsokjong and the nocturnal view of the rocks are especially fantastic.

The Chongsokjong is a cultural resort for people in our country.
