Tree-planting Day Observed in DPRK

Many trees were planted across the DPRK on the occasion of the tree-planting day.

Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Workers’ Party of Korea, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA), and officials of the SPA Standing Committee planted trees at the arboretum of the Central Botanical Garden.

Officials of commissions, ministries and national agencies planted trees of good species near the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt Taesong, the Central Botanical Garden, the Monument to Party Founding and other places of the city.

The civilian and military builders planted trees in the Hwasong area with a determination to perform another miracle in the project for building 10 000 flats at the third stage.

On the same day, builders of Jonwi Street, a magnificent street at the northern gateway to Pyongyang, took part in a tree-planting campaign.

Officials and working people in Hyongjesan, Sosong and Moranbong districts of Pyongyang planted trees strictly observed sci-tech regulations in tree planting out of their patriotic will to turn Pyongyang into a city in park with many woodlands.

Officials, working people, youth and students in North Phyongan, North Hwanghae, Jagang and other provinces planted trees around the statues of the peerlessly great men, revolutionary sites, revolutionary battle sites and cemeteries of fallen soldiers of the Korean People’s Army in their residential areas.

Working people in South Phyongan and South Hwanghae provinces and Nampho Municipality devoted themselves to creating Evodia daniellii Benn forests and other forests of economic value, true to the Party’s Regional Development 20×10 Policy.

Those of the Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection and other nurseries across the country successfully ensured the tree planting by supplying enough saplings.
