A meeting was held on May 2 to convey a congratulatory message from the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) to the workers and officials of the Kusong Machine Tool Factory on the occasion of its 70th founding anniversary.

Present there were Jon Hyon Chol, secretary of the C.C., WPK, Kim Thae Song, secretary of the North Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK, and officials and employees of the factory.

Jon Hyon Chol read out the congratulatory message of the WPK Central Committee.

In the congratulatory message, the WPK Central Committee said that the history of the Kusong Machine Tool Factory since President Kim Il Sung went to the spot to appoint the site for the factory 70 years ago is an epitome of the history of leadership of the WPK which has always attached importance to the machine-building industry and aspired after constant technological advance in the growth and development of the national economy with self-reliance as its lifeline.

The message said that the leadership exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il who visited the factory several times in the first period of the new century to indicate the seed of putting machine tools on a computerized basis and wisely led to solve it in its own way were a strong driving force that made the workers of Kusong raise the technical level to steadily develop and produce new-type modern machine tools in succession.

The WPK Central Committee highly appreciated the feats of all the workers and officials of the factory who have made a great contribution to the machine-building industry of the country and the comprehensive development of the national economy by carrying on the glorious tradition of loyalty and patriotism through generations and making strenuous technological progress.
