By Pooling Wisdom
There is a story that can be heard from anyone in the haulage pit of the Pongchon Coal Mine.
They have said for decades that haulage is just coal production, but the meaning of the word has never been felt so keenly as nowadays.
Whenever people talk to each other about the fact that the coal mine has registered high production results every month thanks to the efforts of the employees of the haulage pit, its employees redouble their efforts, looking back on the unforgettable days when they helped and led each other forward to solve knotty problems.
The employees of the haulage pit sat together to discuss a problem for increasing the hauling capacity a little more some days ago.
In the previous period, too, the hauling capacity was boosted with the help of many technological innovations and inventions, but it was not enough to ensure the haulage successfully compared to the ever-increasing production speed.
After repeated collective discussions, members of the electric-car company advanced a way of increasing the running speed of cars.
However, to realize it, some technical problems had to be solved.
At that time, the other company members said they would take charge of solving the problem.
In the days when all of them solved knotty problems by pooling their collective wisdom, the members of the electric-car company did not leave the face even after the shift, but joined the technical innovation. And those of the belt and the repair companies also discussed each other the problems they had thought in leisure hours though busy with repairing tasks.
As they have worked with a firm resolve to increase the coal production, they could fully solve the technical problems for increasing the hauling capacity and thus open up a prospect for increased coal production.
They are now achieving consecutive successes in their work with confidence that they can do anything if they turn out in the struggle, pooling all their efforts and wisdom, no matter how difficult it may be.
Journal of Passenger Guards
The 4th Company of the Pyongyang Youth Passenger Train Crews’ Corps has an unusual "My Journal of Passenger Train".
The journal records the jobs done by passenger guards such as cleaning and managing of passenger train.
In fact, the jobs should be done by those of the passenger and freight car corps, not by passenger guards.
The following tells the reason:
In January this year, Kim Chang Gon and other officials of the company held a consultative meeting to discuss the issues for waging socialist patriotic movements and revolutionary mass movements true to the Party’s intention.
They decided to positively help the jobs of the passenger and freight car corps with the viewpoint as master. Since then they have conducted the jobs.
Passenger Managing Director So Ui Song, passenger guards Jang Yong Hwa, Hyon Kyong Ran and Kim Kum Hyang take the lead in the jobs.
Then the competitive spirit has enhanced among workteams. Meanwhile, officials of the company put efforts into providing good conditions for them.
One day, officials of the passenger and freight car corps visited the company to express thanks to them. Then the officials of the company said that they are the jobs for railways and they are everybody’s business.
Now such movement is brisk in the unit.
"My Journal of Passenger Train" reflects their precious desire for contribution to the prosperity of the motherland helping and leading each other forward.
Sincerity Devoted to Shock Brigade Member
It happened last August.
Kim Sun Rim, a worker at the North Phyongan Provincial Medicine Management Station, came to see several people enter the provincial general hospital carrying an emergency case.
The patient was a member of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade working at the flood-hit areas.
Kim Sun Rim could not sleep that night picturing his appearance.
She thought that he is one of the precious members of the shock brigade dispatched by the Party and the respected General Secretary
She visited the patient with nutritious foods and materials for tonics to encourage him.
Not only the patient but also doctors and nurses were deeply moved by the sincerity of Kim Sun Rim.
Later she frequently visited the patient although she was busy with her job.
So, the shock brigade member recovered his health and left the hospital. Leaving the hospital he was moved to tears feeling gratitude to medical workers and Kim Sun Rim who devoted themselves to him.
Indeed, it is an impressive picture in our country where everyone lives harmoniously.
